Archos Video (RK) is a multimedia player application designed only for Archos devices based on RK processors and is free to use. The app offers an uncompromised multimedia experience with hardware-accelerated video decoding support for most devices and video formats. It also allows users to play content from various computer/network storage in their network or from an external USB storage device. Additionally, the app supports torrent streaming, allowing users to open previously downloaded torrent files directly from the application.
The app provides automatic online retrieval of movie and TV show information with a poster and backdrop for both local and network content. It also comes with an integrated subtitle downloader and network indexing that allows users to import remote shared folders (SMB) in their multimedia library. With video browsing, users can navigate using either folder or library-based navigation, and the app offers ubiquitous access to TV shows sorted in a series/season/episode hierarchical view. The app is TV-friendly with a dedicated user interface that is keyboard/remote control compatible and Android TV compatibility. Users can also share and keep track of what they have watched using Trakt scrobbler. Lastly, the app supports 3D video, visual tagging, and side by side/top bottom playback mode with Archos stereo virtual reality glasses or cardboard support.
